Community Project: A Safe New Roof for CJ | Marion, Texas
At Roofer Chicks®, some of the most meaningful projects we do don’t start with a phone call from a customer — they start with a call for help.
That’s exactly how we met CJ, an elderly, hearing-impaired gentleman living in Marion, Texas. His trusted family plumber, Steve Broussard, had been working hard to repair CJ’s plumbing, siding, and structural issues — but when it came to the roof, he knew he needed reinforcements. Steve reached out to us, and without hesitation, we said yes.
CJ’s roof was in severe disrepair.
Large sections of decking were rotted, and the damage was so extensive that raccoons had begun entering the home through the compromised roof.
It was heartbreaking — and dangerous — and we knew that a simple patch job wasn’t going to cut it. CJ needed a completely new roof to make his home safe again.
With the help of our incredible partners:
Malarkey Roofing Products (who donated the shingles)
ABC Supply Co. Inc. (who donated additional materials)
Lomanco Vents (who provided ventilation supplies)
— we were able to make it happen at no cost to CJ.
We closed down our office for the day and brought our entire team — sales, office, and field staff — out to the job site.
It was truly all hands on deck, and a perfect opportunity to provide hands-on training for our newer employees while coming together for a cause that really matters.
CJ now has a brand-new, professionally installed roof that will protect his home for years to come — and we walked away with full hearts, grateful to be part of a community that steps up when it’s needed most.
